Every morning you wake up, despite your current position in life, good or bad, you need to quickly check yourself and envision the person you intend to be and not only envision it, but act upon it. Before long, the person that you envision yourself to be will transform into physical reality. On the other spectrum of perception, there is what we perceive others to be. Most importantly, in relation to self motivation or the lack there of, the greatness we see in others that may derail our confidence in achieving a similar goal.
Turns out that "star" recruit was nothing but a bust. He has no basketball fundamentals and all he's really good for is getting in the way. How about your colleagues with their shinny suits on, aiming for that job you have your eye on or admissions into that top law school program?
Turns out that Senior VP of Asset Management was a dog walker (the dogs being the asset to manage), and that student that graduated at the top of her class failed to mention that there were only 15 people in her class.
The point we're trying to make is this - Don't allow your perception of others deter you from greatness, and the way that you perceive yourself is the way that you will eventually be, so perceive yourself and your abilities with only the brightest light. You are ready to compete with anyone placed in front of you and stake your claim to success. Keep your perceptions in line and no one or nothing can stop you.
